Selection workflow

Close the Largest Uncertainty First

Testing should represent the feed range that controls production or product quality.

1

Define duty

Document input ranges, outputs and schedule.

2

Test slurry

Measure cake, flux, moisture, filtrate and release.

3

Choose medium

Compare cloth or ceramic against duty and maintenance.

4

Size and integrate

Select area, vacuum, filtrate, controls and redundancy.

5

Review lifecycle

Compare energy, media, labor, spares and risk.

Platform choice

Compare Filter Media Before Model Numbers

The selected platform must match both filtration behavior and the site’s operating capability.

Compare Offers on an Equal Boundary

Check duty, filtration area, installed and operating power, vacuum and filtrate equipment, instruments, spares, documentation, exclusions and performance-test conditions.

QuestionWhy it mattersEvidence
Is the feed basis identical?Different PSD or solids can invalidate the comparison.Approved design basis and sample/test reference.
Is usable area defined?Model names alone do not show installed filtration area.Data sheet and general arrangement.
Are auxiliaries included?Vacuum, filtrate, air and controls affect performance and cost.Scope list and utility schedule.
Are guarantees conditional? Results depend on feed and operating window.Performance schedule and test method.
Is lifecycle support clear?Media, parts and maintenance influence availability.Recommended spares and service plan.
Practical answers

Frequently Asked Questions

These answers support project preparation; the final recommendation depends on the actual duty.

Why is representative slurry data required?
Mineral names do not define filterability. Particle-size distribution, mineralogy, clay, reagents, solids and temperature can change cake formation, permeability and release. Use filterability testing when results matter commercially.
What should be sent for a preliminary review?
Provide dry-solids throughput, feed solids, particle-size data, target cake moisture, operating schedule, elevation and available utilities through the quote request.
Can BOYUN promise cake moisture from the mineral name alone?
No. A defensible target must be tied to representative feed data, test conditions, equipment scope and an agreed operating basis.

Define the Next Engineering Step

Share the feed, throughput, operating target and site constraints. BOYUN will identify missing information and recommend testing, sizing or the appropriate equipment scope.
